december...already?!?!

this year has definitely gone by FAST. a year and 3 days ago, i graduated! this time last year, i was still in austin taking finals, packing up ALL my belongings, and planning for the rose bowl road trip!

well december came nicely today with some city snow...about 2" at my place. it's funny how people freak out about snow and franticly try to get home. rushour traffic started before lunchtime today. i waited until i saw the snow sticking on the concrete...that was my cue to leave...being stuck at the bottom of the hill would suck. i contemplated taking cafeteria trays and sliding around some, but i went home instead. working from home is nice. i also bought a pair of waterproof hiking shoes online today! =) those are definitely needed...all i have for outdoors are pretty much running shoes...nothing for trails or anything.

our team had a morale event at a team member's house yesterday. hanging out w/ my group is super fun. we had YUMMY homemade bbq...it was like up to par w/ Rudy's! they were like man, if the texan approves, it must be good. =P then my mentor and i rounded up everyone for a hold 'em tourney. good times! we're both hardcore with pokaz strategy, but the others were newbies and wagering like crazy...that made things real interesting and totally threw us off our game. today my manager taught me about snow tire chains and offered to take me and my friends skiing! haha he's so cool...he used to teach skiing and loves to do double black diamonds!!!
