catchin' a wave
so i've been wanting to learn to surf for the longest time. and with all the water around here, you'd think there would be some place where you can pick it up. doesn't seem like it though =(
...guess i gotta choose from rock/mountain climbing, kayaking, biking, hiking, skiing and any other outdoors sport, besides surfing! argh, i needa move to cali where i can surf and ski within one state...
(oh, i found $200 plane tickets from texas on orbitz!! sounds like ppl should come visit!!)

You don't want to surf in that water anyway; it's really really cold. But all around Washington and Oregon, there's a lot of kiteflying happening. E-mail me for more info.

Oh, and if you want to surf, unfortunately the best place around there is Santa Cruz, CA (down by Silicon Valley). Supposedly people go there from all over the world to surf. Just make sure you don't get stuck there in a cubicle for three long, agonizing wks with a slave-driving team lead.
